Common Faults Of Speed Reducer


Faults often occur in gear reducer, such as wear, oil leakage and vibration, which can be diagnosed by observation, touch and listening. Relevant personnel also need to diagnose and repair in time so that the fault will not affect the service life of the gear reducer. In addition, in the application process of the reducer, the relevant personnel also need to do regular maintenance work, so that the reducer has been in normal operation、

1. Common Faults and Reasons Analysis of Reducer            

Taking the turbine reducer as the reference object, the fault types are summarized and the causes are analyzed.            

1.1 Fever and Oil Leakage            

In the turbine reducer, the material of turbine and worm must satisfy the functional requirements of the reducer. The former is mainly made of non-ferrous metal, while the latter is made of steel. When this reducer works, it is mainly realized by sliding friction. Sliding friction not only causes wear and tear between the two parts, but also generates a lot of heat, which leads to the surface temperature of the relevant parts of the reducer soaring [1]. There is a sealing layer in the internal structure of the reducer. When the temperature rises, the parts around the sealing layer will produce temperature stress, which will cause expansion and deformation at the contact of the two parts, so the sealing will fail. The connection quality between the expansion part and other parts will also decrease, and there will be gap between the two parts. When the temperature rises, the oil in the reducer will change qualitatively and its fluidity will become stronger. It will flow to every part of the reducer along with the gap, thus causing a large area of leakage. The main reasons for this phenomenon include the following. First, the internal components of the reducer have different materials, so their reactions to temperature changes and other changes are different. The different materials of the connected components are justifiable, but the contradictions between the materials will inevitably weaken the performance of the overall structure in application. Secondly, there are many differences between the two sides of meshing friction. Thirdly, the quality of lubricating oil is poor, and the types and quality of lubricating oil in different parts are not consistent. The unreasonable assembly of the four reducer components, deviation or error, will cause related faults. 1.2 Turbine Wear           

In the operation of reducer, the turbine will contact the worm directly. The hardness of the former is different from that of the latter, and the latter is bigger. Therefore, the turbine surface will be damaged when it is used on the turbine. Although the wear rate is relatively slow, if the assembly is unreasonable or the turbine quality is poor, or the reducer is in a long-term load operation state, the wear will gradually become serious. In addition to controlling the selection of turbines and worms, the relevant personnel should also determine the type of reducer, so as to reduce the wear of the reducer turbine, and ultimately ensure the service life of the reducer [2].

1.3 transmission helical gear           

If the installation form of the reducer is vertical, the transmission helical gear of the equipment in application is often difficult to maintain its original state, and its wear and tear is directly related to the lubricant. The quality and quantity of lubricating oil are very important. Both of them must be satisfied. The transmission helical gear can be effectively lubricated, and the wear and tear in application will be minimized. Vertical installation mode will make the lubricant and lubricating object in a state of separation at all times, so the amount of lubricating oil often does not meet the requirements. Most of the original lubricating oil will be lost to other parts, and the lubrication protection effect of gears will be reduced. If the gear reducer is still in operation at this time, the wear degree between the gear and the relevant parts will increase.
